Innovation in society is perhaps one of the most overlooked systems in 2018. Nobody even pretends that they are thinking about it. What could we possibly make of 2020’s struggle to find solutions for issues such as poverty, racism, social inequality, poverty, and climate change? These problems are pressing issues that need change now, and we are faced with a few obvious theories on what would be the right action. In other words, we should spend as much time looking at long-term investments and making the things that need to change now, the things that will benefit us in the future. I’ve seen what I have to do right now, and I haven’t stopped since I started.
What I’ve seen so far, isn’t good enough for me.

I feel like I’m continuing to live a very average life. Money and fun are by far my best goals, the hard work to be able to achieve that is the hardest part. However, it’s unfortunate that I can’t do anything more than these goals. Instead, what I want more than anything is to have a life that is a little bit less average. I know we all want some sort of dream life, we all want to be successful. The problem comes, as you continue to pursue some of the things we have listed, sometimes all of a sudden, you’re getting to the fun part. People come to you and ask you, “what you want for yourself?” I’m not there, I can’t be there. There are all sorts of excuses for it, those from money, not money, to needing “family” and “kids” and “company.” Maybe you’re a wife, mom, or daughter, or you don’t. You have some personal reasons, I’m not going to judge, but what I do say is I wish I could meet people who had a dream life just like I do, because when you are able to do something, what you do for the wrong reasons is easy to see, and what you do for the right reasons is easy to understand.

We should learn to recognize people who have dreams of a more normal life, and we should do our best to help them get closer to their goals. It’s not the best idea for people to end up just doing anything and then running out of money, especially not if they have ambitions. Most people will never start a business because their investment goals are too low. However, if you are successful enough, you will start some sort of business, and it’s just a matter of how that goes. It’s not the biggest blessing that you can give yourself, being able to work at your dream job, be independent and have a living wage to support yourself. For those people who do have such lofty ambitions, it’s easy to think that they should give up everything and start a business. That just won’t happen. What happens if you’re off target, or you get in a fight with your manager? What do you do if you’re off target, or you’re working at a small company and it has an awful reputation, how do you proceed?
If you’re also self-employed, or you don’t want to take a job at McDonald’s to pay your bills, what do you do? A lot of people already have a Plan B, a Plan C, or Plan D. I have a Plan C, a Plan D, and a Plan F. Not everyone wants to buy gold in South Africa, with a hard way to access it. For those who don’t want the luxury of these goals, it’s essential to understand that there are not as many resources for anything other than those goals. The resources that give me hope are those which I can get from writing a blog. The material things that I can buy aren’t that expensive, but the tools that give me hope are something different. The tools that create me a chance to have a better life outside of my desk, that gives me something to speak of. Who says that if I’m unsuccessful I have to become an absolute statistic.

goals for tomorrow is to start as quickly as possible. The sooner I start, the more I’ll know what my strengths are, and I will work towards those in the same way that I did this year. That’s the only guarantee I can give myself, the promise of having the tools to achieve all that I want.
